The List takes off!
The magnus opus “The List” saw it’s second volume of the series get launched on Saturday night. I have to say what a brilliant night it was and what a wonderful little book it is. I wish i was a better reviewer.
First of all i’ll talk about the night. The evening bean with veteran manga publisher Avi Bernshaw taking about how the disaparate team of Bedford, Pop and Bonin got pulled together in 2005. After that Henry got up an talked about the monumental challenge of the book. Paul followed, thanking pretty much everyone on board. Paul was a consumate entertainer. Many on the night voiced a “non-sexual crush” on the bald genius. We then saw a little video featuring some of the stunning art from the book synced with some pounding rock. man that was loud rock!
Now about the book… This book is all about the quality. Tight pencils made even sharper with sharp but gritty inks. The tale itself is dark, brooding, I can’t go to far into the story itself without giving away the ballgame. Layouts are clean. All of this is tied together with a neat little bow by stunningly high production values. Really it’s fantastic to see local Aussie comic producers putting their conviction of the story into the quality of printing.
While i heartily endorse The List I WILL point out that it’s only recommended for a mature audience.

“Non-sexual” crush? Dammit!
Cheers for the launch update, Trev. People were raving about the AV production.
